The development of Annelies is a fine example for all our employees. Following her training as a dietician, she is now a Contract Manager in the Medirest segment.
"I started out in the kitchen at AZ Oudenaarde and gradually worked my way up the ladder. I became head manager, unit manager and finally contract manager. It only took 7 years, I got further than I imagined and I'm very happy about that. Moreover, at Compass Group, I have always felt involved and well surrounded. During my career, I have worked with colleagues (mainly men) and it is partly thanks to them that I got where I am today. I received the necessary support and training, and my motivation did the rest.
It is also a great advantage to have held several positions in the same work environment. I have experience in the field, so I have a better understanding of the issues or problems my colleagues face. I can identify what is going on and how to improve service. Finally, thanks to my training as a dietician, I have the knowledge to distinguish the different dietary needs of our patients in the nursing home. If someone is suffering from swallowing problems or diabetes, I know how to manage the situation."
